Notice

1. The decoration of the stucco lotus with a flick at the end is called Bua Ngon which appeared first in the base of the Buddha image before being sent to the chedi in Lanna art and very popular in the Lan Xang art.

2. The Buddha images in all four arches were repaired in the later period because the faces cannot be classified into any groups, the body is delicate and tall, and very longhand, it makes it look as if it is a repair work in the 24-25th Buddhist Century.

Legend

The legend of the 61st Chronicles meeting said that this temple was built during the reign of Lao Kao Pan Ma Mueang (Phaya Lao Klao Kaew Ma Mueang), ruler of Hiran Nakhon Ngeon Yang Chiang Saen in 761. It said that there is an old man dressed in white cloth bathed in front of this temple and drowned. The white cloth then floated to the area in front of the temple. Once the temple was built, it was then called Wat Pha Khao Phan. However, the art form is more related to the inscriptions found at the temple than in the legend.
