Vishanu is the guardian of the universe. He has two mouths: Garuda and Naga. Both appear on this pediment. Garuda is the mouth when he travels to palces, whereas Naga is his bed when he sleeps on the milk sea.

On this pediment, there is a Garuda and a Naga appearing together. It should be noted that Garuda does not fight with the Naga like in other types of Southeast Asian arts. Normally, they are enemies, so it may be possible that the pediment shows them as the mouths of Vishnu. This may also show that the whole building was dedicated to Vishanu, too. (?)
