History of productionMy Son E1 is the most ancient temple at My Son group, possibly corresponding to the establishment of Bhadreshvara as the most sacred Shivalinga of the kingdom during the 6th-7th century A.D. Form the site there discovered the stone base which is the one supposed to be meant for supporting Shivalinga.
ArtThe stone base with the staircase in the front exhibits lots of Indian influences, including Yaksa or the lord of the earth supporting the steps. Disgorged from the mouth of lion, the handrail is decorated with the rosette-and-lozenge motifs indicating Indian influence. The moonstone and the horseshoed arches in Indian fashion are also noticeable.
