No construction history appears, but from the art form and pattern, can determine the age in the 21st century Buddhist.

In 1985, the chedi was excavated, resulting found a chedi inside it.

Art

This is a castle shape chedi. It has a flat base and lotus base in the many corners plan support, a base that supporting the reunthat, four arches with Buddha images and decorative pattern on the pillars. Next up was the reun yod that was made into a layer house with walls, windows, castle model at the corners and sloping roof but the top part was missing.

Notice

1. This reun yod is similar to a Payathat of Myanmar. This reun yod is mostly found in woodwork such as the pulpit or Buddha image arch or the temple arch.

2. The pattern that appears is a Lanna vine pattern which is very wavy and curve line pattern, popular in Lanna art during the 21st Buddhist Century era, which helps in determining the age very well.

3. The name “Wat Pansat” should refer to Prasat(castle) which was the name that was established later. It should not be the original name of the temple.

4. From the excavating of this temple, found that this chedi built cover a Sukhothai style bell-shaped chedi. It shows that this chedi has newer than the inner chedi.

5. This chedi at first was not identified. Sometimes it is called a chedi beside the Northern LIne Bus Terminal.

1. Ku Phra Kaen Chan of Wat Maha Photharam, Chiang Mai Province is an example of Buddha image arch in Lanna art, which was once used to house the Phra Kaen Chan. It has stucco patterns that can be dated in the 21st Buddhist Century as well.

2. The temple arch of Wat Phra That Lampang Luang, Lampang province is an arch that similar to the reun yod of Wat Pansat and has a similar age but stucco designs have been restored in the latter.
