| History of production | Borobudur is the largest Mahayana stupa in Indonesia built by Sailen dynasty, It was built as a replica of the Mahayan universe. Sculpture is each floor represents worlds in Buddhism. At the bottom, there is a Kama World craved according to Kamvipang Scriptures related to the good acts of humans. Above this is the sculpture craved according to Lalitvistara and๋ Jataka which represent Sirsakaymunee. The is the transition between Kama world and physical world. On top of this, there is a sculpture craved according to Kantavayuvasut scripture showing the story of Suthon seeking for extrication which is in line with the physoical world. |

| Religion and belief | Gandavyuha Sutra narrative is an important scripture in Mahayan Buddhism. It tells the story of Suthon who seeks for conduct of Bodhisattava. He seeks for teachers to guide him to the way of becoming Bodhisattava. His 55 teachers are called “good friends”. His friends include Manchisri, Bodhisattava of wisdom, Avalogitesavara, Bodhisattava of mercy, Maitreya, the future Buddha, and Samantrapat, Bodhisattava of practice and Dhamma. This picture is of Samantrapat, Bodhisattava of the universe who holds triple gems in his hand, talking to Suthon about omens of the Buddha everywhere in the universe. He then gets enlighthened. |
