Religion and beliefAmitabha is a monk of the west. He is at the fourth Eon which is the current Eon. The land where he lives is called Sukhawadee or Paradise land. Avalokitesvara is his Buddha.
Related artworkThe statue is sitting in the cross-legged position (Wachara Rasada), showing the Dhyani Mudra's meditation (Pang Meditation). This is a symbolic gesture of Amitabha. However, it is uncertain that the figure refers to the Amitabha or the Shakyamuni Buddha.
