History of production | Po Win Daung Cave was built by human through excavating through moutains. There are several hundreds of them. A Buddhs inage is enshrined in each cave and the cave is painted with paintings. These caves were meditation place for monks before. |

Art | Paintings in Nyongyan period use hot-shading color with some green color in the picture. There is no landscape. The drawings are simple similar to drawing cartoons in the present time. Each picture is seperated by connected curves called “Sintao”. Empty space is filled with flora patterns. |

Religion and belief | When the Lord Buddha was attaining nirvana, many disciples and gods came to see him at Salavanothayan forest. According to story told in Mahaparinippan in Suttantapidok, some disciples were maoning and crying, but those who have been enlighthened were very calm because they understood the essence of life. |
