History of production | Although there is no evidence related to this Chedi, the architectural style and paintings allow us to know that this Chedi was built in the late Pegan period around 18 century B.E. Nearly all of the archaeological sites in Minbanku village were built in this period as well. |

Art | Paintings show hot shading of Pala such as red, yellow, black and white. Buddha images are also related to paintings on ancient palm leaf manuscripts of Pala art, which was brought to Pegan and became the model for Pegan artists. However, filling the pattern into blank space was a popular feature of the late Pegan art. |

Religion and belief | One important miracle of the Lord Buddha is when the monkey offers him an honey alm happening at Vesali city based on Mahayana principle. The monkey collects the honey from the tree and fill it in the alm before offering it to the Lord Buddha. When the Lord BUddha receives the alm, the monkey is so happy and it jumps into the pond and gets drown. Then it becomes the god in a better life. |
Related artwork | The largest Buddha image here emphasises the importance placed on Buddha image by Pala art. At the front, there is a monkey offering alms and at the back there is a monkey collecting honey from a tree. They are the same monkey, but it was designed to show continuity. In the same picture, there is a picture of a monkey drowning and turning into the god at the top of the picture. |
