History of production | This building was established in 1897 by the same architect as the Abdul Samad building. This place was a former office of Federated Malay States Railways until the modification and has been changed into the office of Selangor state. Now, this building is a textile museum. This structure is close to Padang, the area for a British march and state ceremony. |

Art | The elements of the structure show the mixing influences between the Spanish Moorish style and Indian Mughal style. This trend can be found in many British colonial buildings that have been redesigned the beautiful Islamic art under the name Indo-Sarasenic Style. The Moorish element such as the horseshoe arch and the color swap stone of Spain can be found with the Indian Chatris domes and towers. |
