History of production | The Taiping Clock Tower that was built in 1881 is an iconic landmark of the city. At first, it was made of wood until 1890 that it was rebuilt with bricks. It was once used as a police station and fire station before it was deserted. Now, the clock tower is a tourist information centre. |

Art | The clock tower shows the element of the Gothic style’s tower with the spire and the Classic-styled elements such as the arch supported with the pillars or the triangular pediment. The tower separates into 3 parts. The bottom part that is slanted to match with the junction corner. The middle part for observation uses the element of Classic style and pointed roof of Gothic styles with the clock. The clock tower was once closed to the fortress-like structure that was already dismantled. |
