History of productionIstana Penangan was built in 1926 as a temporary palace of Iskandar Shah during the time when the real one was building.
ArtEven the palace shows the western influence, the usage of plaited bamboo strips wall without any nail is the incredible success of Malaysian architect. The plaited bamboo strips walls also make the difference in color of the structure’s wall from the permanent material. Plaited bamboo strips wall along with the many windows and wooden partitions are good for ventilation and suit for the humid weather of Malaysia.
