History of production	Phra Maha Mondop was built in the reign of King Rama I.
Conservation	The particular restoration was in the reign of King Rama III, when there was the 50^th Anniversary of Bangkok.
Art	Phra Maha Mondop was constructed in a sqaure plan which has increase-cornered veranda poles with lotus-shaped capital. The building and the poles were lacquer gilt and covered with coloured glass-mosaic. Its top part consists of small terraced gables on the roof with brass wind chimes hanging under the eave and the bell-shaped pagoda with lotus-shaped spire.
Key academic information	Phra Maha Mondop is situated behind Prasat Phra Thepbidorn on the same foundation. It was built in the reigh of King Rama I to replace Ho Phra Monthien Tham, which was burnt in the earlier reign. This building had stored Thong version of Tripitaka, which was revised by the order of the King in 1788.
