History of production

Not making history, originally it was at the Wat Phra That Hariphunchai. Later, it was brought to housed at Wat Benchamabophit. From the form, the age can be determined in the Buddhist 21st century.

This Buddha image with a subduing mara posture, sits in a full-lotus seat on the lotus base with big petals in the octagon plan and shows. It has an oval face, small knot hairs, feather crown, cloth and earrings, one line of knot hairs under the feather crown, look down eyes, slightly open mouth, knot jaw, high flame halo, symmetrical body, robe cover the neck, bracelets, rings and large split ends centipede fang shaped sanghati reaching belly.

Although the style of the clothes of the Buddha image is influenced by Pala art but there are characteristics that have been influenced by the art of Bagan - Hariphunchai, including the size from large to small of jewelry on the chest or the peony pattern on a feather crown or wearing a robe over the necklace and wearing bracelets.
