Art | This is a bell-shaped Chedi with indented sloping mouldings and a series of lotus bud. The bell element in a round plan is decorated with lotus pattern with a replica chedi at the top. |
Key academic information | This is an example of a replicating chedi of That Foon, a holy Phra Dhat for Thai Puan people. |
Notice | 1. This is a replica chedi of Dhat Foon or Dhat Pan, a holy Phra Dhat of Thaipuan people, which is now in Chiang Chanwasong, Laos. 2. This group of Chedi was heavily influenced by characteristics of Burmese art including sloping mouldings in an octagonal plan, the decoration of the lotus pattern and the bell element in a round plan without a Hamika. Such an influence might have come in during the invasion of King Burengnong and through cities with Burmese influence such as Chiang Tung or Chiang Rung. |
