History of production

It has been hypothesized that King Phra Phetracha built and dedicated this hall to his tutor.

Conservation

The site was listed and declared an ancient monument in the Government Gazette no. 52, part 75, on 8 March 1935.

Art

Tamnak Phra Phutthakosajarn is a two-storey building in a rectangular plan. It was built with brick and covered with plaster. The doorway is on the front wall of the ground floor whereas a row of pointed arch windows are on the side walls. The upper floor can be accessed by the staircase adjacent to side wall. Windows are on all sides of the building. The roof was built with timber and terracotta tiles.

Key academic information

Tamnak Phra Phutthakosajarn is one of the finest and important examples of Late Ayutthaya tiled-roof building along with its mural painting in the interior of the same period.
