History of production | This Buddha image was found along with the name of its creator inscribed on the base, “Mae Ua” who was a concubine of King Mahathammaracha. The purpose of creating this image is that she wished the good deeds would contribute her to be born in Maitreya period. Though the construction date was not mentioned, it could be assume by its artwork features and the reference of King Mahathammaracha that it was built during the 20th century. |

Art | The image is seated in a basic cross-legged gesture on the plain base while the hands are doing the attitude of subduing Mara. The significant features that classify the image under the General Group are the oval face, the curved eyebrows, the low gazing eyes, the aquiline nose, the well-proportioned lips, the big hair curls like a whorl, high swelling Usanisa, the flame-liked halo, wearing cross-body robe with no crease, and the long small outer robe reaching the navel which the edge is folded known as the centipede fangs. There is the name of its creator and the desire in building it. |

Related artwork | This Buddha image is similar to many other Sukhothai Buddha images that found along with inscriptions such as the one found inside the cloister of the same temple, specifying “Tid Sai” or the Buddha image in the National Museum specifying “Tid Sa Ngai”.
