The wall painting is located opposite of the Principle Buddha Image in Ubosot of Wat Maha Samana Ram, Phetchaburi Province. It tells the story of the festival in the 3rd Month (Thai Traditional Calendar) when people pay visit to Phra Phutthabat in Saraburi Province which is believe to be the tradition originated during the reign of King Songtham of Ayutthaya. Prince Damrong Rajanubhab had explained that the festival happens in dry season because it is much easier to reach Phra Phutthabat than any other seasons due to the dry weather and the lesser chance to get malaria than the rainy season. Beside, it is not the farming or harvesting season. Local people often brought their animals like elephants, horses and cows to be the hire vehicles for the visitors as well as selling the forest products to make additional income. These livelihood stories are depicted in the lower part of the wall. The painting was painted in the realistic style with all the details like how it was describes.
