The chapel was built from laterites. The church has a classic style pediment and a plain rose window in front. Within the structure is quite simple. On the floor, many grave plates can be found. This is the tradition of the Christians that will engrave the corpse on the church’s floor in order to be God’s servants.

The octagonal tower is in tapering shape unlike the minaret of Masjid Kampong Kling, which is in the shape of Chinese pagoda. Moreover, using lighthouse as the minaret shows the adapted western style that can be found In Southeast Asia. Another example is the minaret of Masjid Melayu in Penang.

The mosque shows the influence of the Victorian British architecture. All three entrances have a tower that duplicates the British-styled clock tower. The façade shows the elements of Classic style decoration without any Indian or Moorish influence. These elements make this mosque different from other mosques during colonial era.
