Legend

This pagoda has a legend that Lord Buddha came to this area and performed dharma along with giving one hundred eight hair in a golden casket. and putting them in the chedi and making predictions about this area in the future.

Later, the kingdom caused poverty. In the 57 B.E., King Chomtu Jitra persuaded the people to build phra that larger than before and build vihara on the east and reclining Buddha image on the west. Then, the kingdom returned to prosperity again.

And there are still other events later. The legendary content reflects the writing of the legend of the north, such as the legend of the Buddha along the world that often refers to the journey of the Lord Buddha to various lands and has given the prediction.
