History of productionAlthough there is no evidence related to this Chedi, the architectural style and paintings allow us to know that this Chedi was built in the late Pegan period around 18 century B.E. Nearly all of the archaeological sites in Minbanku village were built in this period as well.
ArtThe arch of Pavatonzu is decorated with interesting paintings. The Clec is decorated with flora pattern instead of gods, which was the pattern of the late Pegan period. At the edge of the arch, there is a picture of Kinri (half-bird half-woman) putting her hands together to show respect. This pattern also served as the model for Sukhothai and Lanna arts in Thailand. It should be noted that Kinri also wears crown with triangular bands, which shows a clear influence from Pala art.
