ArtAt the outer base of Ananda chedi, there is a green-enameled terracotta piece, which is popular in Burmese art. These stories are used to decorate the plain area inthe middle of a lotus base. This is also a popular characteristic of Pukam art.

Religion and beliefThese terracotta plaques are the scenes when the demon army is trying to distureb the lord Buddha. Each niche is decorated with two demons riding their own mouth. The demon army emphasise an attempt by Thai architects in using the concept “enlighthenment and subduing the demons” of the lord Buddha.
