History of production | The legend narrates that Pra Bang was the gift presented by Khmer king to King Fa Ngoum. The image was enshrined firstly at Viang Kham and then reached Laung Prabang during the later reign. Thereafter, the city of Luang Prabang (formerly Xiang Thong) was entitled after the name of the image. Nowadays, the image becomes the most significant Buddha image in the city. |
