History of productionAngkor Wat was built in the reign of king Suriyavaraman II in 1113 AD. after he took the throne from his father, king Chayavaraman VI and king Tharanintharavaraman I of Mahidharapura.
ArtThe pediment is in triangular shape with an arch. The arch curves in and out beautifully. The frame of the arch is decorated with multi-headed Naga following the pediment in the late Angkor period. In the middle, there is a stoprytelling scene from Ramayana: Mokkasak.

Religion and beliefMokkasal from Ramayana is the scene when Laksana was wounded by Mokkasak spear from Kumphakan, the brother of Tossakan. Raman and his warlords were trying to remove it from him.
