Art | In Central Java art, Buddha images are of a variety of styles. This image shows a straight robe covering the whole body. This is similar to Kupta art of Saranart school. However, the image raises both hands in parellel. Althoughh both hands have been damaged, they remind us of Vitarakamutra which also appeared in Dvaravati and Pre-Angor art of Khmer. |
