History of productionWhen Dutch occupied Melaka, several Catholic churches in the city were converted to Protestant, for example, St.Paul Church on the top of the hill was also converted to Protestant. In order to celebrate the century of the Dutch rule in Melaka in 1741, the new church was constructed as the main church of the Dutch Reform Church. After the British colonization, this church was converted to Anglican.
ArtThe pediment of this church was designed under the style of Baroque, which was the most popular in Holland duing that time. The tiled roof is, however, similar to the indigenous roof and the portico was added during the British period.
