History of production | Tham Dam is a lofty Stupa in Viang Chan. Despite of lacking of the date of construction, the Stupa is possible to be constructed in the 16th century following King Xai Xettha shifted his capital from Laung Prabang to Viang Chan. As King Xai Xettha was the descendant of Lanna King and He had also been to Chiang Mai, the supta during his reign is the mixture between Lanna and Laotian art. |

Art | This Stupa must be the main stupa of the deserted temple, now disappeared. The series of octagonal sloping moldings at the base are reminiscent of Lanna art while the main element in lotus-like shape is typical to Laotian art. |
