| Art | Phra Sri Rattanachedi is a bell-shaped stupa in circular plan. Its four niches which have doors leading to the inner chamber, where the relics are kept in the small golden stupa, have smaller bell-shaped stupa on the top. The stupa is on a set of pyramidal lotus-shaped pedestals with wires in round plan. Its Ballang is in square plan, surrounded by supporting pillars. |
| Key academic information | Phra Sri Rattanachedi is situated on the western platform of Wat Phra Sri Rattanasatsadaram. King Rama IV ordered to build a bell-shaped stupa for installing Buddha relics he received in Sri Lanka. The style was built after the principal stupa of Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, as it shared the similar conception of the temple precinct within the palace. |
